INVESTMENT IN EDUCATION IS INVESTMENT IN THE FUTURE |
Tosunoglu Pre-school Education Centre has been inaugurated yesterday.
President Mehmet Ali Talat in his speech at the inauguration ceremony said the contribution made to the education was a contribution to the future of the country and children. He added that he expected similar investments made by Tosunoglu in the education from other businessmen.
The Tosunoglu Pre-school Education Centre built in partnership by the Tosunoglu Group and National Education and Culture Minister then was inaugurated yesterday with a ceremony.
Inauguration was made by the president Mehmet Ali Talat. The Center located in Nicosia’s Taskinkoy region also offer specialized services to the disabled children.
Along with the President, Turkekul Kurttekin the ambassador to Nicosia of Turkey, Canan Oztoprak the Minister for National Education and Culture, members of parliament, officials and families attended the inauguration. Hasan Tosunoglu the Chairman of the Tosunoglu Group Board of Directors and company officials was also present at the opening.
The ceremony started with observing a minute of respect and singing of Turkish National Anthem followed by the folk dance performance of the Alaykoy School folk group and poem readings by the students.
The ceremony ended with the opening of the center after the speeches by President Mehmet Ali Talat, Canan Oztoprak the Minister of National Education and Culture and Hasan Tosunoglu the Chairman of the Tosunoglu Group Board of Directors. After the opening The President and other officials was shown around the school.
President Talat
President Mehmet Ali Talat in the speech he made at the event stressed that every investment made in the education meant investment in the future of the country and the children and that he expected to see the same contribution to the education from other business people also.
He said expecting everything from the government was not right and contribution to the education sector had to be made. Talat added that safeguarding, developing the investments of the government investments and keeping them at a level that would answer the needs of the people was in itself a communal responsibility.
His Excellency said the education centre build by the Tosunoglu Group without any obligations but solely due to the importance it paid to the education and love towards education was very important for the community. Talat said everyone should contribute to the education sector which is at the top of the communal needs.
The President recalled that in a previous inauguration ceremony he attended he made a call to the businessmen to make contribution to the education sector adding that the contribution made today made him extremely happy.
Talat repeated his call to the business community to show similar sensitivity. He noted that while the necessities in the education were increasing day by day the possibilities of the state was not growing at equal ratio.
Canan Oztoprak the Minister of National Education and Culture, the centre which is to offer services towards kids with special needs besides pre-school education was build and got ready for education as short time as one and a half year. Oztoprak said the centre made available to the education sector by the Tosunoglu Group was a big contribution to the overall investment made by the ministry towards the infrastructure of special education centers and schools.
Oztoprak thanked to the company for its sensitivity and added that the move should set an example to all.
Hasan Tosunoglu the Director of the Tosunoglu Group in his speech said as a company they gave same importance to the future of the community as they did to their own future, and that it was with this perspective that led to the construction of the center with cooperation with the Ministry of National Education and Culture.
He stressed the importance of education to the future of the country adding that they wanted to give support to the government’s efforts in this field and live behind a lasting work. Tosunoglu expressed his gratitude to all parties who contributed to the project.

FOUNDATION OF RESIDENTIAL AND SHOOING PROJECTS HAS BEEN LAID |
In the framework of group’s decision to invest in Guzelyurt, the foundation of Tosunoglu Group project consisting of modern residential and shops has been laid with a ceremony today.
The mayor of Guzelyurt Mahmut Ozcinar, members of parliament from the region and the large number of members of the community attended the foundation laying ceremony. The project that consists of 32 residential between 125 and 150 meters square and shops is being built on the Guzelyurt Circular Road and opposite the club house of Baf Ulku Yurdu.
Mahmut Ozcinar the Mayor of Guzelyurt at the ceremony said in his speech that every penny of investment made in the region gave them great excitement. On behalf the people of the region he thanked to Tosunoglu Group directors and owners. Ozcinar said he believed that the much needed residential and would bring vigor to the region.
Ibrahim Ersahin the President of Baf Ulku Yurdu sport club extended graditudes of the club fun’s and the communities to Tosunoglu Group owners for the important investment. He said that they believe every single investment made in the region shed further light into the future of the region in the scope of economic and also politics.
HASAN TOSUNOGLU
Hasan Tosunoglu the Chairman of the Tosunoglu Group Board of Directors in the opening speech he made at the ceremony where ship was sacrificed said he believed that the project would also be a motivation for the people of the region who have been living as if they would migrate any time. He said the projects were the first and that it would be followed by other investment in various fields.
Hasan Tosunoglu said the initiative by the government to prepare projects to give incentives for the investment in the Guzelyurt who after 1974 was the source of energy in the economy and social life but later lost its importance for various reasons, was a positive move. Nevertheless Tosunoglu stressed that the projects needed to be injected with dynamism.
“We want solution…wanting solution does not mean refraining to build anything.
We have no commercial concerns in this project. If we had such a concern we would have not started this project during the global financial crisis.
For years the people of Guzelyurt searched for a house in Gonyeli or Kyrenia for their children. Now we are offering you a choice here. We are overwhelmed with the respond after the project was announced. It is very ironic that while yesterday people of Guzelyurt wanted own a property in Nicosia, today there are people who live in Nicosia that has been showing interest and buying property in Guzelyurt”

ESCON LTD OF THE TOSUNOGLU GROUP OF COMPANIES HAS RAISED ITS TARGETS BY BEING FIRST AGAIN |

Escon Ltd has been granted second quality certificate.
Escon Ltd. part of Tosunoglu Group a hundred percent TRNC enterprise having 20 years experience in investment and production is raising its goals after being the signatory of another first in the country.
Tosunoglu Group’s Escon Ltd producing ready mix concrete, thermo bims and other concrete products was granted with the Product Standardization Certificate by the Institution of Turkish Standards (TSE) which is the sole accredited institution to EU of Turkey in establishment of standards and qualities field. The mentioned certificate is also known as Certificated of Factory Production Control.
According to the information given to Nicosia News Agency by Huseyin Tarkan Representative of the Quality Management of Tosunoglu Group, Escon Ltd who has successfully went through inspections by the Institution of Turkish Standards people after a yearlong preparation, has earned the right for a Certificate for Product Standardization which is accepted in the EU countries for the Thermo Bims products which is regarded as the most modern material in construction industry produced with the latest technology. Thermo Bims are produced in the plant located in the region of Famagusta which runs with a computerized system. The company is planning to export its products after being granted the CE Certificate endorsed by the Institution of Turkish Standards.
Tosunoglu Group also got ISO 9000 Quality Management System Certificate endorsed by TSE last year.

END OF TERM AT TOSUNOGLU SPECIAL EDUCATION CENTER |
Yesterday was a special day for the students and the parents. But at the Tosunoglu Special Education Center it was more meaningful and exciting. A group of 4 year olds showed a different enthusiasm to their parents, teachers and directors of the school.
44 students at normal classes and 7 students at Special Education Classes at Tosunoglu Special Education Center that has been giving education with Fund Preschool of Nicosia build by Tosunoglu Group as part of their social responsibility received their end of term reports with high excitement and enthusiasm. Before the reports were given to students a festival was organized by the Board of School in cooperation with School Parents Association were the receipts was donated to the two education institution. The event runs by the Head Teacher Aliye Karaderi and Deputy Head Teacher Havva Eminsel ended with a reception and socialization with families.

Tosunoglu Group visits Democrat Party and KIBSO |
The representative of the Tosunoglu Group of Companies continue their visits to political parties and the institutions in the sector aimed at introducing the EU Product Quality Standardization Certificate it got in the past month.
Hasan Tosunoglu the Chairman of the Tosunoglu Group Board of Directors heading a delegation of officials from the company visited Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Industry and Democrat Party. During visits Hasan Tosunoglu said despite the existing unfair competition circumstances, they were determined to progress towards their EU goal. He said they had the honor of being granted Certificate of Product Quality Standardization that allows the products to be sold in all EU countries and TSE which is one of the top quality certification institutions in the world.
He said being a part of a productive, innovative and competitive Turkish Cypriot community he would be working towards their investments, production and export goals. Tosunoglu also said they would like to see the political system and institutions in the sectors by them with supportive attitude instead of hindrance.
SERDAR DENKTAS
Serdar Denktas the President of Democrat Party during the meeting said Tosunoglu Group has proven that at a possible agreement on the island Turkish Cypriots would not be a patch to the Greek Cypriots by succeeding to stand on its feet despite the governments absent and wrong policies. Denktas accused the government of not giving enough support to the companies in the industry in marketing, for making the electricity rate for the companies the most expensive in the world and by not being able to provide other infrastructures for the industry. Denktas claimed that they could prosper the Turkish Cypriots with their 10 year program when they become the government. He said they would use the first five year to put right the mistakes made by previous governments and the other 5 to the projects that would prosper the Turkish Cypriots social and economic life.

Ali Cirali the President of the Chamber of Industry said at the meeting with Tosunoglu Group that, they were proud of Tosunoglu Group for getting the quality certificate that acted as an EU passport for the products. He said that they expected new projects from the government that would encourage production at EU standards and protected industrialists from unfair competition. |
